Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve completed two books and am working on my third.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Dear Heart is my first published book. Music is an important element in the book and the title solidified for me when I listened to the song by The Ray Charles Singers.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Generally, I write between 10 PM and 3 AM, and fortify myself with lots of coffee.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I like John Grisham, Stephen King, Harold Robbins, Rex Stout and Donald Hamilton. But I think I was most influenced by the Trixie Belden mystery series when I was a girl.

What are you working on now?
A screenplay for Dear Heart and a third novel entitled Interoffice Romance.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still finding that out.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Never give up.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t stop your writing session at the end of a paragraph or chapter. Stop in the middle of a sentence. It will be easier to pick up where you left off when you return because you won’t have to agonize over what comes next.

What are you reading now?
I’m rereading The Adventurers by Harold Robbins.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Mastering the art of writing a screenplay.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Salem’s Lot and The Stand by Stephen King. The Adventurers by Harold Robbins, The Firm and A Time to Kill by John Grisham.
